I Went...SI--SI--SIRIUS...All The Way Home (again) #59

 (a short jaunt)

"When The World Is Running Down, You Make..." - The Police / "Zenyatta Mondatta (1980)
Turn on my V.C.R.  Same one I've had for years.
James Brown on the T.A.M.I. show.  Same tape I've had for years.
I sit in my old car.  Same one I've had for years.
Old battery's running down.  It ran for years and years.

I never quite picked up on the lyrics.  It was always the new wave groove that killed.   Almost trance.  Copeland snappin' and poppin' the skins.  Summers and Sting workin' it out.  This was a great band.  And this is just a great song to take for a drive.  Or use for the drive-away ending scene in "Good Will Hunting."  This was the trio's third album. "Soul Sacrifice" - Santana / "Santana" (1969)
(Instrumental)

Back-to-back groove jams.  I fell in love with this song after watching "Woodstock."  I had never heard the studio version til now.  It was an amazing jam then and it's a great jam still.  The longest track on the album and yet never overstays its welcome.  Santana's debut album. (NEED)

"Teaser" - Tommy Bolin / "Teaser" (1975)
"She's a teaser and she's got no heart at all.
She's a teaser and she'll tempt you 'til you fall"

I'm amazed at how much he accomplished in an all too short amount of time.  Playing with Billy Cobham and the band Zephyr.  Tommy joined The James Gang on Joe Walsh's recommendation and replaced Richie Blackmore in Deep Purple on David Coverdale's praise.  And then his two solo albums, the first being "Teaser."  I admit I'm a bigger fan of his follow-up square "Private Eyes" (1976)...but this title track is a fun declaration to ride along with.  Tommy Bolin was just 25 when he died. "WILMA,  I'M HOME!"

Good stuff.
