200 Lost Gems & Forgotten Diamonds:-->Pt 2

"After silence...that which comes nearest
to expressing

the inexpressible...is music."

~ Aldous Huxley

This personal list of "lost gems & forgotten diamonds" continues - part 2.

A reminder...songs will be from the 70s decade...but not exclusively.
And there is no ranking or countdown.  Only a number to keep track of how far along I've gotten.  I strongly encourage everyone to purchase the albums for an even better understanding.

Let's continue...

190:--> "Mother Mary"UFO / "Force It" (1975)
"Mother Mary,
could you ever really feel the same?"
Guitar wizard Michael Schenker is part freight train.

189:--> "Standing In The Rain"James Gang / "Bang" (1973)
"Curly hair and lashes,
And the cheek of a red velvet rose."
Exciting opening track with Tommy Bolin making his presence known.

188:--> "Road And The Sky"Jackson Browne / "Late For The Sky" (1974)
"I'm just rollin' away from yesterday
behind the wheel of a stolen Chevrolet.
I'm gonna get a little higher, see if I can hotwire reality"
Time to jump in the car and hit the road.  Take it easy...part two.

187:--> "Which Man Are You"Tommy Tutone / "Tommy Tutone 2" (1981)
"Are you a man...who's been well-advised?
Are you a man who's been misguided?"
Totally mislabeled and deserved much better.

186:--> "Hot Summer Nights"Walter Egan / "Too Shy" (1978)
"We shared our hopes, our dreams, and our goals...
and the fundamental roll."
A catchy jangly number about lost youth with Buckingham & Nicks offering support.

185:--> "T.B. Sheets"Van Morrison / "T/B Sheets" (1973)
"So open up the window and let me breathe."
Epic and fiercely intense about a sick friend above a funky cliff-dropping groove.

184:--> "Caledonia"Robin Trower / "Long Misty Days" (1976)
"Your simple little greed
makes an inch of a loser's wing."
Gliding guitar from Robin Trower with the always outstanding Jimmy Dewar tearin' it up.

183:--> "At War With The World"Foreigner / Foreigner (1977)
"Never had no need
for any military aid."
The stand-out track and maybe their best.

182:--> "Movin' On"Triumph / "Just A Game" (1979)
"I may be right or wrong
The story's in my song."
At first, you don't, but then you do.  Underrated rocker from the boys from Canada.

181:--> "Stayed Awake All Night"BTO / "BTO" (1973)
"In the cool, cool, cool of the morning...
that's when I'm coming home."
This one catches the right nut.

Good stuff.
