Lost Gem: "Sail Away" - David Gray (1998)

"I've been talking drunken gibberish.
Falling in and out of bars."
 ~ David Gray ~

This is the ...bobble-headed Chesire cat...David Gray's fourth CD.  And a brilliant piece of work it is.

"White Ladder" fills the speakers with an array of addictive heady grooves..meant for icing it down for the evening.

It's strictly for three hours past sundown enjoyment.

DG throws down some mature music..both relaxing and romantic...and perfect for those occasional return visits into memories.

Lost Gem:--> "Sail Away"...is a wonderful vibatious groove tune...that says absolutely nothing new about love.

But David's conviction of the words...remind all of us...of that private bittersweet aching...for something we've lost...and how urgently we sometimes desire to have it back.

There are no do-overs in love........Ah...but just once.

Have you heard this one?

Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now

Crazy skies all wild above me now
Winter howling at my face
And everything I held so dear
Disappeared without a trace
Oh all the times I've tasted love
Never knew quite what I had
Little Darling if you hear me now
Never needed you so bad
Spinning round inside my head

Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now

I've been talking drunken gibberish
Falling in and out of bars
Trying to get some explanation here
For the way some people are
How did it ever come so fa
r

Good stuff!
