"I can tell  whether a person can play just by the way he stands." - Miles Davis - A reminder...songs will be from the 70s decade...but not exclusively.  No ranking or countdown.  Only a number to keep track of how far along I've gotten.  I strongly encourage everyone to purchase the albums for an even better understanding. Let's continue... 120:-->  "Black Queen" - Stephen Stills  / "Stephen Stills" (1970) "Black queen, holding hearts Black queen, tear the game apart Black queen, don't you know? Can't beat aces all in a row, black queen." One-take Delta grunge-burn with Stills moaning low and reminding listeners he knows his way around a guitar.  All while taking one of his familiar alcohol baths. Recorded live and unfettered. 119:-->  "Breaking Glass" - David Bowie / "Low"  (1977) "You're such a wonderful person. But you got problems." Jolting in-your-face rock candy. Wonderfull

Achingly beautiful.  Painfully real. Haunts long after the first listen.  Sadly, about a friend involved in a drug deal gone bad. 129:-->   "Emerald Eyes"  -  Fleetwood Mac  / "Mystery To Me" (1973) "The way she sails away slow... makes your day-to-day life easy." Dreamy vocals with tasty trademark mysterioso guitar work from Welch.  And great drum fill from Fleetwood.  Pas

Rushmore.  Total ear-candy. 139:-->   "Welcome Home"  - Bachman-Turner Overdrive / "BTO II"  (1973) "I'm going to save up all of my money just to see if I could." Guitar and harmonica in tow...Forbert is a bruised-knuckled optimist with a Van Gogh paintbrush.  Youth, life, and the temporary flash of zero responsibility. 149:-->   "Sugar Babe"  -  Steve Miller / "The Joker"  (1973) "Way down in Alabama... there's a girl just a-waitin'

" Of the flowers in Evie's garden... one would never go out of bloom ." Freedy Johnston Freedy notices lonely shadows cast by many smiling and unsmiling strangers. And hears the desperate thundering of a million dreams traveling on a train of last chances. And he shares with the listener his haunting, beautiful visions. But only briefly. And then after skillfully spinning his musical maze...leaves us hungry to hear more. Johnston's vocals are gentle and honest...and float over arrangements that are not cheap. Often creating a delicious mood of weary acceptance. Freedy has been recognized as a "songwriter's songwriter" by both peers and critics alike. Even garnering ..." Songwriter of the Year" props from Rolling Stone in 1994. Recently, Freedy was in town performing at the The Anchor in Wichita. Sharing the stage with his buddy, Wayne Gottstine (Split-Lip Rayfield) ...the evening was warm and loose. Along with fan fav
